Sarah Zaza, MD

Vascular Surgery Resident

Sarah Zaza is from Libertyville, Illinois. She obtained her undergraduate degree in Spanish and a degree in biology with high honors from Loyola University Chicago. She attended medical school at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. Her main interests are surgical ethics and disparities in surgery. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, hiking, and playing the violin.

After completing two years of vascular surgery residency, Sarah joined WiSOR on a vascular T32 training grant. She is working under the primary mentorship of Dr. Margaret “Gretchen” Schwarze. Her current projects focus on clinical momentum and high-intensity treatments at end of life. Sarah will gain experience in qualitative and quantitative research methods through these projects with Dr. Schwarze and collaborators in WiSOR.
