Melanie Fritz, MD

General Surgery Resident

Originally from Maryland, Melanie has grown to love the Midwest through her college years in Indiana and postgraduate time in Chicago; she is thrilled to be in Wisconsin for general surgery residency. Her clinical and research interests include communication around serious illness and surgical decision making, the intersections of palliative care and surgery, and she hopes to pursue fellowship training in colorectal surgery after completion of her general surgery residency. When she isn’t in the hospital, she enjoys reading and watching science fiction, sewing, and gardening.
