Jared Cullen, BS

Senior Research Specialist

Jared brings a diverse background to the role of Laboratory Manager and Research Specialist in the Connor lab. After earning a B.S. in Biology from Edgewood College, Jared held positions as Wildlife Research Technician at the Wisconsin Department Of Natural Resources-Bureau of Wildlife Management where he studied the effects of Chronic Wasting disease on the Wisconsin whitetail deer population, Microbiologist at the Wisconsin Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory-Department of Virology where performed high throughput real-time PCRs and multiple other molecular assays, and as Lab Manager and Research Specialist in the Moser lab at the University of Wisconsin-Madison-Department of Oncology where he investigated the genetic control of breast cancer in ApcMin mice. Jared’s research background has made him an integral part of the Connor research team. He currently investigates, assists, and manages research projects focused on studying the effects of aging and exercise on muscles of the head and neck. Primarily focusing on neuromuscular junction plasticity and morphology in extrinsic tongue muscles in rat model.
