Charles Gast, MD, PhD
Otolaryngology Resident
Prior to starting his residency at the University of Wisconsin, Charlie completed his MD/PhD degree at Oregon Health & Science University where he identified a novel mechanism by which macrophages promote progression of cancer. He also spent five years as a research assistant investigating mechanisms of virulence and drug resistance in fungal pathogens, and received his B.A. from Lewis & Clark College in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Charlie was born in Ft. Collins, Colorado and has two sons with his wife, Tessa—Caleb and Remy.
