Brittany Krekeler, MS
Graduate Student
Brittany has her master’s from UW-Madison in communication sciences and disorders, but is currently continuing on with her PhD in the Connor lab. She is currently completing her degree in communication sciences and disorders with a minor in clinical studies through the UW Institute of Clinical and Translational Research. Her major interests are in dysphagia research with a focus on aging of the swallowing mechanism. Through her work in the Connor lab she completed a master’s thesis studying aging effects on mastication. She hopes to begin to bridge the gap between the bench and the bedside by contributing to the field of translational research in aging. Her current and future research focus further explores the physiological and biological effects of exercise therapy and dose of exercise as a treatment of dysphagia in a rat model. Further, she is interested in using a translational approach to study adherence to therapy.
