The Weikel LEADS Program is committed to preparing the next generation of leaders through an engaging, cross-disciplinary, applied learning experience.
This program is made possible by a generous donation from the Weikel family, and is for Department of Surgery faculty, APPs, and staff seeking to enhance their leadership skills and understanding of how our department, health system, and university operate.
The 2025-26 cohort will consist of approximately 25 participants, including faculty, APPs, and administration staff from the Department of Surgery. Residents on academic development time for the course duration are eligible to apply. The course days will occur on Thursdays or Fridays each month. Sessions typically run from 8 a.m.-4 p.m.

- Participants will complete a 360-degree evaluation by their direct reports, peers, and supervisors.
- Speakers will be engaged from the local health system, university, and business community, as well as other institutions.
