Members of the Department of Surgery Peer Support Team and their families gathered at Madison Axe this weekend for our quarterly social event. We beat the winter blues with ax throwing and other games. The team gathers a few times each year to build community and get to know one another outside of work.
DOS Peer Support
The nature of surgery is that we often see patients and their loved ones during traumatic times. It is essential that those providing that clinical care and related administrative support have a safe and accessible method of receiving support for themselves.
The Department of Surgery has over 30 trained Peer Supporters so far! We are working together to identify, refer, and offer support where it is needed.
