Andrew Bowen, MD

Dr. Bowne was an Otorhinolaryngology resident at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester. Prior to his time as a resident, he was a medical student at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine. Dr. Bowen is now a surgeon at MetroHealth System in Cleaveland, Ohio.
Benjamin Damazo, MD
2022-2023
Benjamin Damazo was born and raised in the town of Paradise, California. He earned his doctorate from Loma Linda University School of Medicine in Loma Linda, California. During medical school he channeled his passion for the water and for working with children through his volunteer work teaching inner city children how to be water safe with his biannual TIGERS water safety swim camp. He also continued his devotion to research by founding and becoming the inaugural editor-in-chief of the “Loma Linda University Student Journal”. In residency Ben discovered a passion for treating disorders of the voice, esophagus, and airway partly through his good fortune as the resident “Black Cloud”. Ben is now practicing at ENT and Allergy Centers of Texas.
Dr. Chau completed medical school at the Emory University School of Medicine. Following medical school, he completed his residency in Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at University of California Irvine. He is currently practicing at Kaiser Permanente in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Lucia Diaz Garcia, MD
2020-2021
Dr. Diaz Garcia completed medical school at Rutgers-New Jersey Medical School. Following medical school she completed her residency in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery – Sentara Norfolk General Hospital/Eastern Virginia Medical School. After completing fellowship at the University of Wisconsin, she moved to Camden, NJ to join Cooper University Health Care; where she is currently the Director of Laryngology and Upper Airway Surgery and Director, Voice and Swallow Clinic.
Johnny Mai, MD
2017-2018
Dr. Mai earned his Bachelor’s Degree at The University of Texas, graduating summa cum laude. His medical training started at McGovern Medical School in Houston, TX, where Dr. Mai was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. Dr. Mai received surgical training in Otolaryngology at The George Washington University. From there, he completed additional surgical training for voice, airway, and swallow disorders as Laryngology Fellow at the University of Wisconsin, where he also served as staff physician. Dr. Mai joined Allergy & ENT Associates in September, 2018.
Stephen Schoeff, MD
2019-2020
Dr. Schoeff completed his undergraduate degree in microbiology and Latin American studies at Ohio State University. He then went on to complete medical school followed by residency in otolaryngology – head and neck surgery at the University of Virginia. After completing fellowship at the University of Wisconsin, he has moved to Tacoma, WA to join the Washington Permanente Medical Group as its first fellowship-trained laryngologist serving the Puget Sound region.
Resha Soni, MD
2018-2019
Dr. Soni completed her undergraduate degree in Biology as well as her medical school training at Rutgers University. She then went on to complete her residency in Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery at Temple University in Philadelphia. After completing fellowship at the University of Wisconsin, Dr. Soni joined Advocate Aurora Health in Milwaukee. She is currently the only fellowship-trained laryngologist within the Advocate Aurora Health System.
Chad Whited, MD
2014-2015
Dr. Whited completed his undergraduate degree in finance at the University of Texas at Austin in 2004. He then received his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Texas at Houston School of Medicine and completed his residency at Duke University before coming to Wisconsin to complete his fellowship in laryngology. Dr. Whited is currently the only fellowship-trained laryngologist in Austin, Texas, and serves as a laryngeal surgery and general otolaryngology provider at Austin ENT Clinic, and a clinical lecturer at the University of Texas at Austin.
Wm Greg Young, MD
2013-2014
Dr. Young completed his undergraduate degree in engineering from the University of Washington Seattle in 2004. He then received his Doctor of Medicine from Chicago Medical School and completed his residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit before coming to Wisconsin to complete his laryngology fellowship. Dr. Young is currently an ptolaryngologist at Proliance Eastside ENT in Bellevue and Kirkland, Washington, and serves as the first fellowship-trained laryngologist on the Eastside.
Christopher M. Bingcang, MD
2012-2013
Dr. Bingcang completed his undergraduate degree from the University of Kentucky, not only in biology, but also in Spanish and music in guitar performance. He earned his Doctor of Medicine with high distinction from the University of Kentucky where he also completed his residency training. Dr. Bingcang serves as an assistant professor of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska, and is currently the only fellowship-trained laryngologist in Nebraska and the greater Omaha/Western Iowa region.
Sunil P. Verma, MD
2010
Dr. Verma earned his medical degree with honors from the University of Southern California, where he also completed his residency training. During his fellowship at UW-Madison, he was engaged in projects related to vocal cord injection and office-based laser use for upper airway lesions, and was also involved in the production of manuscripts related to laryngeal education. In addition, Dr. Verma also initiated a twice-per-year course for otolaryngology residents on laryngeal anatomy and surgery and created the first ever laryngeal dissection manual for publication.
Dr. Verma, the author of many published articles and presentations, has since become director of Voice & Swallowing at the University of California Irvine’s Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, where he continues to conduct research while maintaining a busy clinical practice.
