Fellow Research Support
Fellow research and travel are supported by both the Division of Surgical Oncology and an extensive yearly budget for fellow travel costs and professional development opportunities.
The Division strongly supports opportunities for the fellow to travel to academic conferences, present research, and participate in courses.
Fellow Research Requirements
Fellows are expected to complete:
- One quality improvement project
- One paper submission per year (two total while training)
- A substitute for this requirement would be a draft of a career development award completed by the end of training
- Submission of one abstract to a national conference per year (two total while training)
- Submission of a research project to a national meeting
- The fellow is also expected to attend an annual Society of Surgical Oncology conference for further education and networking opportunities
