M. Kristine Carbullido, MD

Plastic Surgery Resident

Kristine was born and raised in San Diego, California where she completed her undergraduate degree at University of California, San Diego. She first became interested in plastic surgery while on a medical mission trip in the Philippines, observing a cleft lip and palate repair for the first time.

While at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, she was fascinated with the great breadth of plastic and reconstructive surgery, the niche it fills working with other surgical disciplines, and how it is applied in global health. In 2019, she spent a year getting a Master’s in Clinical Research at UCSD. She graduated medical school in 2021 and is preparing for a career in academic plastic surgery and global health. Outside of the hospital, Kristine spends lots of time outdoors –backpacking, hiking, climbing, and visiting national parks.
